Hanumantapuram Farmhouse

Located in Hanumanthpuram within the Krishnagiri hill range, the farmhouse is set against a backdrop of bamboo forests and hills, with undulating terrain and rocky contours defining the rest of the site.

The layout is shaped by these conditions—positioning spaces to frame key views while negotiating the natural slopes of the land. Rather than imposing a rigid geometry, the planning adapts to the contours, allowing the built form to sit lightly within the landscape. Openings and spatial orientation are aligned to capture the surrounding scenery and natural light.Material choices reinforce this connection to context, with exposed brick and mud plaster creating a tactile, earthy expression. Domed skylights puncture the RCC roof slab, bringing in diffused daylight and adding a subtle spatial variation to the interiors.

Techniques:Rubble foundation with composite structure, exposed brick masonry, mud plaster finishes, and RCC slab integrated with dome skylights.
