Aikiyam Harmony, Auroville

Located within the Aikiyam School campus—an outreach institution serving children from surrounding villages—the Harmony Building accommodates four classrooms.

Positioned between two existing structures, the design negotiates a tight infill condition, requiring a careful balance between continuity and identity. Rather than mimicking the adjacent buildings, the architectural language aligns with their scale and proportions while introducing a distinct expression through its facade treatment.The planning remains efficient and linear, ensuring well-lit, naturally ventilated classrooms suited for everyday use. The building maintains visual coherence within the campus while subtly asserting its own character.

Techniques: Post and lintel construction with ferrocement facade formwork.
